The VISION for CHILDREN Charitable Foundation provides free vision exams and corrective eyeglasses for underprivileged children of the Bahamian islands. Funded only by private individuals and foundations, VFC serves underprivileged children on remote islands that have no access to vision care. The Bahamian island’s medical system does not provide for optometric care for any of their citizens.
Prior to Dr. Vanderpool’s mission trips there was no on-island services available for the children of the out islands of the Bahamas. Most children will never travel off of their native island and therefore have no access to optometric care. Most could not afford optometric care if it were available.
Because of this deficit in services, Dr. Vanderpool stepped up to fill the gap. Initially personally funding and providing all services, he has performed more than a thousand optometric exams and provided hundreds of eye glasses to the children of Bimini enabling them with a better chance in life
Dr. Vanderpool and his family has been providing and funding free eye exams and glasses to the children of the out islands of the Bahamas for 7 years, unfortunately, future missions are uncertain due to lack of available funds. To continue this important work immediate funding is imperative.
A hundred percent of all funds donated will be used to provide eye care and glasses for the children of the out island of the Bahamas. Vision for Children Charitable Foundation needs financial help from individuals and foundations alike, to continue this much needed and rewarding mission.
