Indian Health Care Resource Center of Tulsa, Inc. (IHCRC) will be hosting its third annual Fight the Flu Clinic on Saturday, October 4th from 9:00am-12:00pm at 550 S. Peoria Avenue in Tulsa. IHCRC is pleased once again to partner with the Oklahoma Caring Van, a program of the Oklahoma Caring Foundation, to provide preventive care for those in need.
Flu season is quickly approaching; typically starting in November. Children and older adults are the most susceptible to catching the virus, especially from seemingly healthy individuals who happen to be a “carrier.” Therefore, the best way to prevent seasonal flu in your household is by getting your entire family vaccinated.
IHCRC is assisting established patients with the vaccination process by providing flu shots in a convenient setting. Patients can easily drive-thru to get checked-in and then receive their flu vaccination without ever having to leave their vehicle. The Oklahoma Caring Van will also be on-site to provide flu shots to individuals who are not IHCRC established patients. Together the two organizations hope to help prevent seasonal flu and improve the health of all Tulsans.
Participants should enter the north parking lot from the west side of the building for check-in prior to receiving flu shots. For questions or for more information regarding the Fight the Flu Clinic please call IHCRC at (918) 588-1900.
