Police say someone strangled a woman at a south Tulsa apartment complex Monday.

The incident happened at the complex near 71st and Mingo in south Tulsa.

The victim, a 19-year-old woman, was in critical condition when hospitalized.

She was later identified as Kelsey Tennant, 19.

Police said she had no brain activity. She died of her injuries late Monday night.

They say a suspect is a friend of the victim's next door neighbor.

Investigators believe the woman walked in on the suspect burglarizing her home.

The victim's boyfriend reportedly found her on the ground and the son still in the apartment after he could not get ahold of her.

They believe the suspect and boyfriend got into a fight and the suspect went next door.

The suspect, later identified as Gregory Epperson, was brought into custody.

Tennant's death marks Tulsa's 16th homicide of the year.
