Styx live from 1996

Tuesday 09-20 Styx – Grand Illusion

Today would be Styx’s late Drummer, John Panozzo’s Birthday. Twin brothers Chuck (bass) and John Panozzo were neighborhood friends with Dennis DeYoung (keyboards). In the early 60’s they decided to put together a band. In 69 they added a friend from college, John Curulewski (guitar) and Guitarist James “JY” Young. After a couple of name changes they decided on Styx because it was the only one that nobody in the band hated. Today’s Live at Five features a live version of Grand Illusion, recorded live during their reunion tour with Tommy Shaw in 1996. Unfortunately, John died in July of 96.
