‘Incredibles 2’ comes with epilepsy warning

It’s been 14 years since the Parr family was on the big screen as “The Incredibles,” and it seems like fans have been waiting for the sequel as “Incredibles 2” crushed box office records, taking in an estimated $180 million in its opening domestic weekend, CNN reported.

But the film is now coming with a warning for those who suffer from epilepsy or other conditions, USAToday reported.

There is a segment of the movie that shows bright flashing lights used by the villain Screenslaver, USAToday reported.

There were warnings on social media from theater goers after last week’s premiere of “Incredibles 2” alerting fans with epilepsy, migraines or chronic illness that the mind control scenes could trigger seizures.

The Epilepsy Foundation also issued a warning.

On Friday, Walt Disney Pictures took it a step further, requesting that theaters showing the film warn viewers about the scene, USAToday reported.

A theater supervisor for a Los Angeles AMC theater location told USAToday he has never had an alert like that before from a studio.

The Epilepsy Foundation says 3 percent of people with epilepsy can have seizures if exposed to some flashing lights.

“Captain Marvel” will feature a female superhero, who will be played by Brie Larson, Variety reported.

Toprak was born in Istanbul and came to the United States as a teenager. She earned degrees at the Berklee College of Music in Boston and at California State University, Northridge, Variety reported.

REDRUM: Ewan McGregor cast as Danny, Jack Nicolson’s son in ‘The Shining’ sequel

It seems like it is time to revisit the Overlook and the mind of Stephen King.

Ewan McGregor has signed on to play Danny, the son of Jack Nicholson’s character Johnny from “The Shining,” in the sequel of the movie, USA Today reported

“Doctor Sleep” will be based on the 2013 novel which follows Danny, now known as Dan Torrance, as an adult who is still haunted by what happened in the original story, USA Today reported.

In the original film, Danny and his mother Wendy, played by Shelley Duvall, escaped the snowed-in Overlook hotel after his father loses his mind, chasing his family with an ax before finally perishing in the snow.

Variety says the plot of “Doctor Sleep” revolves around Dan who has anger issues and drinks to dull the pain. It also lowers his “shining” powers. But when he becomes sober, his powers return and he uses them to help a group of people being targeted because they have psychic abilities.

McGregor’s casting of Torrance was with King’s OK, USA Today reported.

Mike Flanagan has been tapped to write and direct the film, Variety reported. Flanagan has already had a hand in telling a King-penned story, leading Netflix’s adaptation of “Gerald’s Game.”

Filming on “Doctor Sleep” is going to start filming in the fall, with a January 2020 release.

Chris Pine fans ask, what is Steve Trevor doing in this ‘Wonder Woman’ tweet?

Wait what? Is that Chris Pine in a tweet from “Wonder Woman” director Patty Jenkins?

Spoiler alert follows if you still haven’t seen 2017’s breakout superhero film.

The last time we saw Pine’s character, and Wonder Woman’s love interest, Steve Trevor, he seemed to sacrifice himself to save the world, Vulture reported.

But Jenkins is making fans of not only the superhero movie, but also Pine/Trevor, question everything they  saw at the end of the film thanks to a photo she posted to Twitter Wednesday morning

In the post, she welcomes Steve Trevor to “Wonder Woman 1984.” But she doesn’t say if it is the same Steve filmgoers saw go down in flames. Could it be the same Steve brought 40 years into the future thanks to a time traveling story plot? Or could it be Steve’s son or other relative who remarkably looks like Wonder Woman’s love interest?

Guess we will find out next year when “Wonder Woman 1984” hits theaters, with Pine apparently appearing alongside Gal Gadot as title heroine Wonder Woman and Kristen Wiig as Cheetah. Until then, let the fanboy and fangirl speculation begin.
