Hear Tom Petty Talk About His Album “Wildflowers” And Releasing The Expanded Version

The idea of releasing the expanded version of “Wildflowers” that is coming out October 16th, was something Tom Petty spoke of before he passed. You can listen to Tom discussing the album here.

Tom Petty discussed releasing his “Wildflowers” album the way he originally envisioned it, as a double CD.

Tom had recorded 25 songs for the album over a span of about 2 years.

Back in June of 2015 the discussion had gotten so intense a couple videos showed up on Tom’s YouTube page.

The videos were an intro to and the song “Somewhere Under Heaven” credited as from the album ‘Wildflowers – All The Rest’.

By the time Petty passed away in October 2017 the album still was not released.

After his passing Tom’s estate did some releases and then the discussion ran to “Wildflowers” the expanded edition.

Now the album is slated to be released on October 16th 2020 as “Wildflowers & All The Rest”.

Below you can see a video where Tom talks about the album and maybe releasing the entire thing the way he had originally envisioned.
