Center of the Universe Festival

All are welcome with open arms to the Center of the Universe Festival in the Brady Arts District in Tulsa. This year’s bash is scheduled for July 19-20, 2013.

Named after the popular display of architectural mystery in the heart (or center?) of downtown, this non-profit music and arts festival will let you stop and stare at jaw dropping, eye opening, heart pumping, nostalgia-inducing bands that everybody talks about.

If music isn’t really your thing or you think fun is only for young people, then let the Center of the Universe prove you wrong. There’s really no excuse NOT to show up, considering festival admission is free! There are also VIP and BOK Zone ticket options for those who want to have a little more fun than everyone else. If you still need convincing (or if you’re just an artistically inclined freeloader) then continue on. The Center of the Universe Festival will be a weekend full of jammin’ bands sure to satisfy any musical craving. The 2013 festival will feature two outdoor stages; the Main Stage on Main Street in front of the Cain’s Ballroom, showcasing major national acts, and the second stage at The Guthrie Green, featuring a range of highly acclaimed emerging artists from around the country. After the outdoor stages close each night, the Brady District bars and clubs will open their doors with specially selected live music lineups featuring emerging-artist showcases. This is your chance to say you saw that one band way back before they sold out and everybody liked them. We’ll all say, “We know, you heard them first.” In addition to a VIP Preview Party on Thursday night before the festival, the Center of the Universe Festival will also feature street art, a market for local and regional artists to display and sell their work, and a water park located adjacent to Main Street, two blocks south of the main stage. The proceeds from the festival will benefit the Brady Arts District Business Association to help expand the downtown trolley that currently operates on weekend nights only. Additional funds will be used to build programs to attract and retain artists to the Brady Arts District.
