Tulsa’s Zarrow International Elementary School just got a donation of 500 lightweight, desk shields.
Principal Denise Marquez says that will be enough for every single student, when the school eventually starts in-person classes again.
“I would have been thrilled to get it for one grade-level. It’s for the whole school, so it’s fantastic,” she said.
The shield forms a three-sided, transparent cubicle on the desktop, to give some protection when students have to take off their masks for things like eating lunch.
They were donated by a Zarrow parent, who actually owns the company that makes them.
