Pizza place and ice cream, coffee shops coming to downtown Bixby

New development at corner of Dawes and Armstrong

Bixby has been one of Oklahoma’s fastest-growing towns, but its original downtown area has been fairly quiet, at least until now.

Local city and business leaders Tuesday announced not just one, but THREE new businesses are setting up shop in the heart of downtown Bixby.

A new pizza restaurant, ice cream shop, and coffee shop will be at the corner of the two main crossroads, Armstrong Street and Dawes Avenue, in downtown Bixby.

Joshua Forrest is the owner of the upcoming Brick Brothers Pizza.

“We moved here several years ago, we brought our kids here and put them in school here, and to get to be a part of the revitalization of downtown is just, it’s amazing. It’s a great opportunity that we’re really excited about,” Forrest said.

He and his fellow developers hope to have all three businesses up and running by this summer.

The city of Bixby has also set up a grant program to encourage more people to redevelop old downtown buildings in Bixby.
