First responders reportedly found Helen Miller, who died at the scene, in a bedroom with a stab wound to her neck, the TV station reported.

Court records also indicate that Helen Miller was found lying on her back with a blood-stained pillow covering her face, WHTM reported.

“I don’t know that I have ever been a part of something that is quite as sad as this,” Manheim Township police Chief Tom Rudzinski told the TV station, noting the murder occurred while the girls’ parents slept.

A motive for the killing has not yet been released.

Claire Miller, a ninth grader at the Lancaster Country Day School, is being held without bond and charged as an adult, WHTM reported.
