Trenton Lamar Williams, 29, of Ames, was arrested Friday and charged with robbery, three counts of burglary, assault with intent to commit sexual abuse, stalking, trespassing, harassment and theft, according to Story County Sheriff’s Office online booking records.

The charges date to May 2019, KCCI reported. Police said between 12 and 15 cases of illegal entry were reported in the area.

According to the Ames Police Department, Williams broke into college-age women’s apartments in the city, WOI reported. Investigators said Williams did not always steal anything from the apartments but instead recorded the women, the television station reported.

Authorities said Williams’ actions escalated in November 2020 when he attacked a woman in her apartment, KCCI reported.

Williams was arrested after police searched his apartment and allegedly found evidence on his electronic devices, which linked him to the crimes, WOI reported.
