Tommy Lee and Vince Neil went to the same high school in Covina, California and played in different garage bands. Bassist Nikki Sixx left his band and began rehearsing with Tommy Lee and Mick Marrs. After seeing Vince Neil perform with his band Rockcandi, both Mick and Tommy wanted Vince to join the new band….and Motley Crue was born.
