18-year-old woman dead after crash near Ketchum

KETCHUM, Okla. — An 18-year-old woman is dead after a car crash near Ketchum in Craig County, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol (OHP).

OHP said the crash occurred around 2:30 p.m. on Nov. 23 on OK-82, just north of OK-85, near Ketchum.

According to OHP, Saffron Durham, age 18 of Vinita, and Kenneth Turner, age 62 of Vinita, were both driving southbound on OK-82. Turner slowed to turn east on OK-85 and was rear-ended by Durham.

OHP said Durham was pronounced dead at the scene.

Turner refused treatment at the scene for a leg injury. Turner’s passenger, Carson Wiley, age 32 of Vinita, was admitted in fair condition to a Joplin hospital with leg injuries.

According to OHP, the crash was caused by inattention.

OHP also said Durham was not wearing a seatbelt.
