Human skull found near Gilcrease Museum

Tulsa Police suspect foul play

A human skull was found in a wooded area by a photographer who was working on an assignment near Gilcrease Museum on Monday.

Tulsa Police were on the scene in the 1300 block of North 33rd West Avenue looking for more evidence.

They say there is damage to the skull that would suggest foul play.

An archaeologist from the medical examiner’s office found more bones they believe came from the same victim.

The skull was only a few feet from the road, so police were surprised it hadn’t been found until now.

They say it appears to have been there for quite some time.
