Man shot, killed by Tulsa police

Police said the man approached officers with a knife

A man has died after an officer-involved shooting Saturday afternoon.

The incident happened near Apache and Harvard around 2pm.

Tulsa police confirmed the man was wielding a knife at officers before being shot.

We’re told officers made multiple attempts to get the man to drop the knife, but he refused.

Officers said the man began harming himself with the knife during the interaction. Police tried crisis intervention techniques and fired pepperballs to try to stop him, but both attempts were unsuccessful.

Police said the man approached officers with the knife and was shot.

First aid was rendered on the scene, according to police.

Officers confirmed the man later died at the hospital.
