Our Blood Institute is facing a blood emergency, asks for donations

TULSA, Okla. — Our Blood Institute (OBI) announced that the organization is facing a “dangerous emergency blood shortage.” To combat this, OBI issued an immediate call for donors of all blood types.

The organization explained they normally have a three-to-five day supply of lifesaving blood available, but it is well below that level now.

OBI is the sixth-largest independent blood center in the U.S., and they have 16 donor centers in Oklahoma, Arkansas and Texas.
