PRYOR, Okla. — A Pryor man says as the sleet and ice from last week’s winter storm started to melt, he started to notice a weird, sticky substance forming in part of his front yard.

He says it looked almost like spider-webs or snow.

Marshall Davis said, “It was like snow frozen in time, except it’s here out in the shining sun.”

He’s been trying to figure out what it was. He set some of it on fire, and it turned into liquid. He also noticed when he touches it with gloves, that it is gooey and sticky.

He says when he posted about the substance on a Facebook page in Pryor, other people commented, saying they’ve also noticed this substance, especially after winter weather.

Fox23 is checking in with the Oklahoma State Extension Office; we will share an update from them about what this is, as soon as we can.
