Billy Idol celebrates his birthday today! Born William Michael Albert Broad…Billy wanted to use the stage name “Billy Idle” but decided against it because of Monty Python star Eric Idle so ended up using the name “Billy Idol”. He almost lost his leg in a motorcycle accident in Hollywood in February of 1990 which cost him a major role in Oliver Stone’s movie “The Doors” his role ended up being just a small part. The accident…also cost him the role as the villain in Terminator 2: Judgment Day. Today’s Live at Five features a live version of Billy’s remake of the Tommy James song Mony Mony.
