David Bowie live from the Nassau Coliseum 1976

Tuesday 10-11 David Bowie – Fame

We lost David Bowie to cancer earlier this year. Born David Robert Jones, he changed his last name to Bowie, borrowed from Jim Bowie, the American frontiersman, to avoid any confusion with Davy Jones of the Monkees. Bowie was a Rock and Roll icon. He was also a successful actor appearing in several TV shows and movies like Labyrinth and The Last Temptation of Christ. Today’s Live at Five is the song Fame, co-written by his friend John Lennon. This version is from Live at Nassau Coliseum, NY CD and was recorded live on March 23, 1976
