Watch A Q&A With Liberty DeVitto About His Two Books, 30 Years Playing With Billy Joel And More

Watch Liberty DeVitto sit for a Q&A talking about his 2 books, 30 years playing with Billy Joe and more. Plus find out what word Liberty wanted Paul McCartney wanted to say when they did a recording session together.

We recently sat with Liberty DeVitto on his home turf at The Long Island Music and Entertainment Hall of Fame museum in Stony Brook, New York.

Liberty was kind enough to participate in an intimate Q&A about his 2 books and 30 years of playing with Billy Joel.

The 2 books are his memoir “Life, Billy and the pursuit of Happiness” and his childrens Christmas book “Love, Santa Claus: A humble-hearted Christmas story”.

We discussed the band “Topper” that would become Billy’s band.

Part of the conversation was about artists other than Billy that Liberty played with.

Those artists included Paul McCartney and the late Ronnie Spector.

Liberty even shared the word he wanted Paul to speak during the session.

Liberty also spoke about how he, Richie Cannata and Russell Javors who played together with Billy, began playing together again as The Lords of 52nd Street.
